about

Sin Happy Vacationists consists of...
Figure of Speech, Mako Shark and DJ BobaFatt.

Over the course of 2005, the trio met up & made beats in a basement.

Mancunian MC Figure of Speech (FoS) originally started performing at parties in the '90s as part of Andy Votel's crew. Over the years he's featured on releases with Mu Kau, Sir Beans OBE, The Allergies, Beattrix and Roast Beatz. A graphic designer by day, he moved to Bristol to work at Peter Gabriel's Real World Records in the early '00s, where he met Stabilizer...

Bristol-based Mako Shark (aka Stabilizer) is a visuals producer that's worked with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Pet Shop Boys and Florence & the Machine. As a music producer also, he's had numerous releases over the years, garnering triumphs with Breakbeat awards, remixes for Nine Inch Nails and vigorous spins by DJs like Andrew Weatherall & Jazzie B.

One track for his album 'Canine' entitled 'Low Slung' pulled in FoS on the vocals, and a local DJ friend, BobaFatt...

Hackney resident BobaFatt has been active in the music industry since the early '90s. His mixes, radio shows and club sets have seen him receive nods & acclaim from Mixcloud, Fact Magazine and BBC 1Xtra. He has a weekly show on London Hip Hop station Itch FM, is a resident DJ for Soundcrash and is 50% of DJ duo, Main Squeeze.

Presently residing at Rough Trade, Boba used to run a small indie record shop in Bath a decade ago, which is where the bulk of the Sin Happy sessions took place of an evening, over burgers, banter and an occasional beer.

This album is comprised of ten tracks crafted during those sessions.
Ten years on, this is the first time these tracks have been released.
